Who would have thought that I would find my passion after almost 26 years in the medical field and that it would involve balloons, confetti, boards of directors, and be so much fun! But my time in medicine did prepare me to be good at what I do (read very organized and detail-oriented) and show me that my passion is helping people plan their events.
It’s hard to believe that I started planning events at the Backstage Bistro/Village Cinema almost six years ago. I had an amazing mentor and boss who taught me how to plan and coordinate events as simple as a child’s birthday party to a BSU game co-hosted with a local radio station and even a Downton Abbey premiere with PBS! I took that knowledge and experience and branched out on my own and created Eventageous Idaho in 2014. I saw a need in working with some of those clients to help when someone is “voluntold” to plan a sales meeting for 600 employees and board members, a client appreciation event for their office and clients, or even a group of Board Members (who have regular full-time jobs also) plan their next fundraising event.
I love the challenge of sitting down with a potential client or Board and hearing what they have either done in the past or what they want to do for their event, input my ideas and suggestions, and then seeing it all come together, little by little. Then the final result of seeing it all come together, hearing from my client (clients) that they were so grateful to be able to sit and visit or eat or enjoy the performance during an event that in the past, they were too stressed out and scattered to even remember!
I have had the privilege of working with some amazing clients in the past few years. Crime Stoppers, Community Council of Idaho, Farm Bureau Insurance, Big Jud’s Meridian, and many more. I have done a few weddings but found it’s not my forte - in other words, I am so not creative that way- but give me an event where you need to raise money, find sponsors and raffle items or get people excited about your grand opening or anniversary celebration? I’m your person!
I’m a native Idahoan (aka - a unicorn) and I love living here. I can’t imagine being anywhere else. But I love to travel - both in the States and abroad. I have two boys, one who is married and lives in Pittsburgh and the other who lives in Oklahoma. They are my proudest accomplishment! I enjoy cooking and reading and exploring Idaho - even living here all my life there is still plenty I haven’t seen.
I’m looking for new clients to share their vision with me for their next event. Let’s see what we can make into a reality. Nothing too big or small that I can’t handle!
I look forward to "meeting" you soon! CheRee
